Thank you for your letter. GCR section 1.2.3.C.2 states that "Specific class rules in the Category Section of the GCR shall take
precedence over the general Category Rules and the General Technical Specifications." Therefore, a particular class's rules may
override the requirement in GCR section 9.3.32.A that "All non-Formula cars shall have two operating red brake lights." Brake
lights have never been required in the existing prototype classes: The P1 and P2 rules state in GCR sections 9.1.8.B.A.2 and
9.1.8.C.B.2, respectively, that "Brake lights are not required." The PE rule duplicates the longstanding rule in the P1 and P2
classes.
