Honda S2000 2.2L Weight
#34823 from John Wilson · Not recommended · Minutes (2023-10 Fastrack)
Thank you for your letter. We'd like to clarify some of the data you presented. The 2.2 liter S2000 hasn't been left unaided since
2010. It is ~145 lbs lighter, and it has been allowed 750 lb springs. After the car was raced at the 2021 Runoffs at Indianapolis,
we removed a 60mm FPR that was on the car. We have not seen data on the car since that race.
We appreciate the work that you put into your power:weight analysis. The problem is that you use published OE HP for class
front runners. All of these cars run with TIRs or FPRs, drastically reducing their actual power. In the end BOP is based on actual
race acceleration and handling data. Please bring the car out to a HST or Majors event where data is collected so we can have
proper data to work with.
