Thank you for your letter. The Club Racing Board does not recommend this change. Grand Touring and Touring are
not split classes. GT1, GT2, GT3, and GTL are independent classes in the Grand Touring category and T1, T2, T3, and T4
are independent classes in the Touring category. These classes may or may not race together in a run group based on
the event, and at the Runoffs the classes typically have separate races. FA's average participation level in U.S. Majors
Tour events does not support dividing the class into separate classes for different car types. In situations where a
disparity in performance exists within a class for a particular car, car owners have sometimes organized an unofficial
championship for that car type within their class and/or recognized individual competitors' performance by awarding
their own trophies and taking their own podium pictures. This has worked well both regionally and nationally but
