Request to Adjust FP (page 500) 93-98 Golf
#36262 from Travis Abbott · Not recommended · Minutes (2024-08 Fastrack)
Thank you for your letter, but this request is not recommended. Permitting an alternate intake manifold on a Prep Level 2
specification is against class philosophy, and it is not believed that the safety concern that is presented with the stock intake
manifold design is valid. It is not uncommon for a throttle body to be located on the same side of the engine as its exhaust
manifold and/or fuel lines. Additionally, within the existing rules, intakes (ahead of the throttle body) are unrestricted, so any
piping can be shielded/insulated from heat, and fuel lines can be replaced with braided stainless steel lines, so alternate
methods do exist within the current rules to address these perceived issues.
