Sven, Thank you for your letter. Your concern about the added cost for the two-piece FT unit is understandable. We have seen
the original unit (which is considerably less expensive) fitted to a number of small formula and prototype cockpits. The original
unit itself is 3.00" wide x 1.12" tall x 1.18 deep. We understand that the primary concern in mounting this in the smaller cars is
related to the wiring that comes into the backside of the unit. The new two-piece display is smaller at 2.953" wide x 1.226 tall x
.297 thick but you still have to locate the control module which is 2.326 wide x 1.226 tall. We are cognizant of the fact that the
rain light and FT units are an added expense but are convinced that these will help to improve safety (and in the case of the FT
unit - improve the green flag track time). Thank you for your support of SCCA and F6.
