Thank you for your letter. Polishing that is not required to effectively clean a part and is not performed by the original
manufacturer or called out in the service manual for a part constitutes a modification of the part, and the rules state that
components of the powertrain (such as components within the transmission) may not be modified unless specifically authorized
by the rules.
