Thank you for your letter. All SCCA classes have at their root a class philosophy that does, for the most part, govern the class, it is
not applied as an absolute and there are exceptions. The CRB strives to always consider class philosophy when evaluating
requests from competitors. When submitting requests members should also consider their requests’ impact on the class
philosophy and if it is a reasonable request.
This request for classifications of a GM engine in a Nissan exceeds the class philosophy. The combination requested is permitted
in GTX.
