In SCCA racing, combining SM and SMX into a single class is not a sound approach. The performance disparity between the two
is significant, approximately seven seconds per lap based on the best laps from the 2025 SCCA Runoffs, and such a merger would
compromise the integrity and competitiveness of SM, one of SCCA’s most successful classes.
