Runoff Rules Placing T1 Class on Probation-National Championship
#39532 from Roy Lipner · Not recommended · Minutes (2026-02 Fastrack)
The Runoffs probation rules were established to ensure that a driver winning a class that experiences a one-year dip in Runoffs
event participation would not be penalized for a potential anomaly. A second year below the 10-car threshold is indicative of a
trend or more significant issue. The CRB believes that adjustments made to Touring 1 set it up for success in 2026, where it will
again be included at the Runoffs in a combined group with GT-1. The GCR stipulates that if the class reaches 10+ cars at the
Runoffs, it will move off of probation and crown a National Champion.
