6.10.1 Clarification of Timing Line

In Starting Line for Timing and Scoring, GCR section 6.10.1, change as follows:
"Unless otherwise defined in the Supplemental Regulations, the start/finish line is the control line where timingbegins/endswhen crossed by a car. A car crosses a control line when any portion of the car first intercepts the vertical plane of the controlline, as observed by the officials assigned to record the passage, who maybe aided by suitable automatic or semi-automaticequipment. If a camera is used to determine a photo finish, the camera shall be mounted in a direct line with the start/finishline.
A. Timing
Timing commences and ends where the antenna loop (transponder pickup) crosses the track. The antenna loop used for

transponders is normally unmarked and depending upon individual track configurations may or may not be in the same location
as the Start/Finish line used for Scoring.
B. Scoring
Scoring is the finish position of the competitor at the end of a race as the competitor crosses the marked Start/Finish line. If a
camera is used to determine a photo finish, the camera must be mounted in a direct line with the start/finish line."
