The RX8 is currently the performance target for T4. The car was dominant in 2024 and very competitive in 2025, aside from the
3.7 liter Mustang. The Mustang was an exact replica of the one that has been in the class from its inception, aside from the
engine and that was restricted by 7mm or 11.66% (in area) since the Runoffs. It is now the smallest FPR in the class by
12mm. The TAC doesn't believe it is a threat at this time. Changes were made to the MX5 that will allow some cars to lose 100
lbs. All changes, aside from the Mustang, were made to bring other cars in-line with the RX-8. Taking weight out of the RX8 at
this point is counterproductive to BOP efforts.
